Finding the right therapist for your current concerns
Life crises and struggles are opportunities to increase self-awareness, clarify goals and priorities, and bring more depth to your daily life and relationships. Therapy is a tool to help you make the most of difficult times. My goal in therapy is for you to feel better, cope better, make new plans, and to connect with others in satisfying ways.
I have been in private practice for 20+ years, working with a wide diversity of clients. My practice is general and varied, and I also have some areas of specialization, such as working with people with disordered eating (especially involving overeating), with couples, and with lesbian and gay clients.

Although the issues that clients bring to therapy, such as anxiety or depression, may have similar labels, my approach as a relational psychotherapist is to work together to understand the problem in terms of your own unique life experiences, relationships, and coping strategies. I combine general recommendations (such as behavioural approaches for depression, mindful strategies for binge eating, and conflict management for couples) with in-depth joint exploration of what is troubling you and why.
